Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ban Chiang, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A collection of 4 ancient Thai pottery vessels- 3 exhibiting the textile pressed patterning across their bodies. This pottery was made by hand using a paddle and anvil to shape the profile and then incising the cord-marked design, utilizing fibrous materials such as rope, or incised with a stylus, likely made of wood. Size: 8" Diameter x 8" W (20.3 cm x 20.3 cm)
