Pre-Columbian, Mexico City region, Aztec or Mixtec, ca. 1300 to 1500 CE. A finely-detailed pottery stamp, rectangular in form, with a ring handle on the verso. The stamp face depicts a well-armored warrior holding a staff and a shield in low-relief and wears ankle wraps, a large necklace, and an ornate headdress. A wonderful example from ancient Mexico! Size (stamp face): 1.375" W x 2.125" H (3.5 cm x 5.4 cm).
