Ancient Roman, Imperial period, ca. 244 to 249 CE. Silver double denarius of Marcus Julius Philippus, obverse radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I. Reverse Aequitas standing left, holding scales and cornucopia. Set into large, rounded triangular 18kt gold bezel, corners matte finished, remainder highly polished, and attached to necklace comprised of semi-precious ancient stones of red-orange carnelian and greenstone. A lovely necklace ready to wear! Size: 18" L (45.7 cm), bezel, coin combined weight 31 grams. Assuming coin weighs 4,5 grams, bezel weight is approximately 26.5 grams. Gold scrap value over $1800!
