North Africa, Morocco, Amazigh (Berber), possibly Tuareg culture, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. The main textile field is adorned with rows of 19th-century Moroccan dirham coins, many inscribed with Islamic Hijri dates. At the center of the sash is a silver medallion etched with geometric motifs, flanked by repousse silver rosettes on each terminal end. Size of panel w/ coin fringe: 18" L x 3.25" W (45.7 cm x 8.3 cm); silver quality: 89% to 94%
