Description:

**Originally Listed At $350**

Central Asia, Tibet, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A collection of adornments and snuff jar. At its center is a bone japamala (mala) necklace strung with over 100 carved bone beads, each rendered in the form of tiny skulls - symbols of impermanence and meditation used in Buddhist and Hindu practice. The necklace is ideal for spiritual use or as a striking visual accessory. Accompanying it is a small brass snuff bottle or prayer jar, embellished with wire filigree and colorful enamel cabochons in traditional Himalayan style. Also included are two open-ended cuff bracelets: one a green turquoise inlay bracelet set in 94% silver, the other a copper-and-brass alloy bangle, a souvenir item from Nepal. Size of japamala strand doubled: 57.5" L (146 cm); beads: 0.5" L x 0.3" W (1.3 cm x 0.8 cm)

Provenance: private Dallas, Texas, USA collection, acquired between 1970 and 2015
