Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Paquime/Casas Grandes, ca. 1150 to 1450 CE. A nice example of an olla in the classic Casas Grandes style, buff pottery decorated with a complex, abstract motif in black and red in a band around the center of the vessel. Above that band of color are groups of alternating red, black, and red lines diagonally around the neck. The vessel has a slightly rolled out rim with incised lines around the short neck. Size: 8.25" W x 7" H (21 cm x 17.8 cm)
