Pre-Columbian, Central Coast of Peru, Chancay, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. A set of 2 ancient textiles formed from woven camelid wool in hues of brown, red, marigold, and cream. The first artifact is a gauze-like textile sash fragment decorated with colorful avian creatures, and the largest is a rectangular coca bag with a thick carrying strap. Size of largest: 14.5" W x 9.75" H (36.8 cm x 24.8 cm)

Provenance: private Parker, Colorado, USA collection, acquired July 2023; ex-private Palmyra Gallery, New York, New York, USA; ex-private West Virginia collection, by descent, acquired 1960s to 1970s
