Description:

Pre-Columbian, central to north coastal Peru, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. Fine textile sling or bolo comprised of braided camelid fibers in shades of brown and tan. Large central "pocket" which was used to hold metal or stone projectiles. Slings such as this were quite deadly and were known to later pierce steel armor of the invading Spanish a few centuries later. Frame size: 30" W x 20.5" H (76.2 cm x 52.1 cm)
