Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Chancay, ca. 1000 CE. A fine, nicely-preserved weaver's basket comprised of tightly-woven reeds and filled with original sewing implements. The sewing tools include one thread comb; eight thin sticks with spindle whorls; four sticks wrapped with natural cotton threads; thirteen sticks/needles; nine loose pottery spindle whorls; and one small set of pan pipes. Size (basket): 3.875" L x 8" W x 3" H (9.8 cm x 20.3 cm x 7.6 cm).
