Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Chimu culture, ca. 900-1100 CE. A beautiful necklace comprised of cylindrical shaped shell beads in hues of purple and mauve (many hand carved and some with modern cuts) alternating with disk-shaped lustrous shell beads in varying shades of cream. The pendant is a bronze bell with fantastic blue-green patina. The bell not only jingles but is also adorned with a sinuous serpent wriggling beneath the suspension hole. Measures approximately 31"L (79 cm). All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
