East Asia, China, Ming Dynasty, ca. 1368 to 1644 CE. A fine and wearable ring from the Ming Dynasty, cast from 90% gold (equivalent to 21K+). The ring boasts a slender band, a pair of raised ovoid bosses along the lateral sides, and a flat circular face flanked by sloping shoulders. The circular face displays a trio of tall rectangular Chinese characters, each flanked with incised vertical bars, and enclosed along the top and bottom with additional incised striations. A beautiful piece of wearable jewelry from the Ming Dynasty! Size: 0.8" W x 0.7" H (2 cm x 1.8 cm); quality of gold: 90% (equivalent to 21K+); total weight: 6.7 grams; US ring size 6.
