East Asia, China, late Qing Dynasty, ca. late 20th to early 21st century CE. A wonderful pair of shoushan stone seals, each hand-carved in the form of an elongated octagon with Chinese characters surrounding a yin-yang symbol on one face and 4 characters around an indented square on the other. The sides of both are etched with additional Chinese text, landscape and figural scenes, and a band of 2 high relief dragons near the top. Size (both the same): 3.25" L x 3" W x 5.9" H (8.3 cm x 7.6 cm x 15 cm)
