Chupicuaro & Michoacan. Ca. 400 B.C. - 100 B.C. Group of eight various pottery examples, including a Chupicuaro pottery vase decorated on the exterior with a white painted interlocking stepped diamond design surrounded with horizontal bands. Two ancient drilled attachment holes in the rim. A minor rim flake, otherwise intact. Together with a Michoacan orange ware oblong vessel with two openings at the top and four sets of fin-like lugs around the sides. A few tiny mouth rim flakes, otherwise intact. A miniature bowl decorated with three red-brown painted zoomorphs on a cream ground. Intact. A small olla having an orange-cream ground with red-brown painted zigzag and linear decoration. Intact. A Chupicuaro double bowl vessel with a loop basket type handle, black on tan linear decoration. Intact. A simple bowl having a tan-cream ground and red-orange painted rim. Intact. A small olla painted red-orange, having a raised shoulder rim. Tiny rim flake, otherwise intact. A small bottle standing on a low pedestal foot, bulbous body, loop handle and flared lip. Deep gray metallic glazed surface. Intact. A very nice group of pottery objects. Size: 4-1/4"H. x 4-1/4"W. & 7-1/4"L. x 3-5/8"W. & 2-1/4" to 4-3/4"H. vessels.
