This striking Pre-Columbian Chupicuaro bowl, dating from 500 to 100 BCE, exemplifies the artistry of ancient West Mexico. Skillfully hand-built with a broad form, it features a flared rim and deep basin supported by three hollow, rattle-filled legs—two of which retain their original rattle balls, adding an interactive element. The bowl's surface, adorned with vibrant red and white zigzag patterns, frets, and intersecting bands, creates a captivating visual effect.
