Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Protoclassic, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A solid, hand-built terracotta depiction of a seated male figure with sinuous arms and legs, applied loincloth, and delineated male genitalia. Sloping shoulders lead to a thick neck adorned with a thin necklace, and a conical head displays almond-shaped eyes, protruding ears, a slight smile, and an incised coiffure. A wonderful example from ancient Western Mexico! Size: 5.25" H (13.3 cm).
