Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Protoclassic, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built seated female figural redware vessel, nude with a pear-shaped body, delineated genitalia and large nipples, seated with diminutive arms and legs and delineated fingers and toes, her body further adorned with cicatricial marks (shoulder pellets). She presents an expressive visage comprised of coffee bean shaped eyes, arched brows, a protruding nose, puckering lips, petite cup-shaped ears, and a pointed chin - all topped by a headdress which also forms the flared spout. Size: 11.1" W x 13.5" H (28.2 cm x 34.3 cm)
