Pre-Columbian, Colombia, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. Like a fish out of water . . . this charming bichrome earthenware effigy vessel depicts a figure presenting both human and fishlike traits. The overall shape of the piece resembles that of a fish with protruding fins, tail, and puckering bubble-producing mouth. Its visage, however, is quite anthropomorphic. Perforated for suspension. Size: 9.5" L x 5.625" W x 4.625" H (24.1 cm x 14.3 cm x 11.7 cm)
