Ancient Mediterranean, Cypriot, Late Bronze Age, ca. 1600 to 1050 BCE. A simple yet elegant basalt bowl presenting a ring-shaped foot, a shallow basin, and a lipped rim, indicating it may have once had a lid. The smooth interior of the vessel suggests it could have served as a mortar for preparing foods, dyes, ointments, and fragrances. Size: 9" Diameter x 2.1" H (22.9 cm x 5.3 cm)
