Description:

Ancient Greece, Cyprus, Late Cypriot Bronze Age, ca. 1550 to 1050 BCE. A beautiful wheel-thrown redware pottery spindle bottle with a circular base, an expanding piriform body with a rounded shoulder tapering to a narrow conical neck, an everted discoid rim, and an applied strap handle joining neck to shoulder. The vessel boasts an elegant, uncomplicated form, and the highly burnished exterior surface makes this a desirable example of ancient Cypriot pottery! Size: 3.25" W x 10.875" H (8.3 cm x 27.6 cm)

For a stylistically-similar example with a slightly slimmer body, please see The British Museum, museum number 1897,0401.1193.
