Central Africa, Cameroon, Kirdi peoples, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A heavy throwing knife, comprised of hammered iron, with a lengthy handle wrapped in braided fibers, a sickle-form blade end, and an open loop complete with suspension ring. The blade portions of the knife display a textured, stippled pattern made by striking the metal multiple times with a hard, sharp object. Size: 24.375" L (61.9 cm).
