West or Southern Africa, Colonial Period, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden walking staff of tall, slender form, with the handle shaped like an African native dressed in Colonial-era garb, and dozens of petite nacre (mother-of-pearl) inlays decorating the surfaces of the figure and upper staff body. Size: 1.2" L x 1.6" W x 43.4" H (3 cm x 4.1 cm x 110.2 cm)
