Southern Africa, Zulu people, ca. early 20th century CE. A fine and lightweight spear comprised of a wooden shaft joined to a iron tip. A strip of wood reinforces the tang of the spearhead where it fits into to the wooden shaft. The blade is narrow with a midrib running the length of both sides. This is a lightweight weapon, ideal as a throwing projectile for smaller game animals. Size: 48" L x 1" W (121.9 cm x 2.5 cm)

  • Condition: Nicks and loss to periphery of iron head. Lower end of wooden pole is splintering and held in place with piece of tape. Nice patina to wood and blade!
