Oceania, Australia, Aboriginal peoples, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. An attractive wooden boomerang meant for hunting rather than for display. The gently curved body terminates with rounded tips with one arm that is narrower than the other, perhaps as a dedicated handle. Both sides exhibit a slightly convex profile. Aboriginals made tools and airfoil weaponry from a variety of different woods known for their high density, heavy weight, and sturdy construction. Size: 26.625" L x 2.375" W (67.6 cm x 6 cm)
