Egypt, Middle Kingdom, 12th Dynasty, 1991 to 1802 BCE. This is a fun piece of antique jewelry incorporating an ancient steatite scarab. The chain is decorated with ankhs and hieroglyphs. The scarab is in a square setting that exposes its hieroglyphic belly. Comes with a translation and a document stating its provenance and antiquity, stamped Egyptian Museum License 108, Cairo, Egypt, from 1941. Be aware that the bracelet is for a small wrist. Size: 5.8" L (14.7 cm)
