Ancient Egypt, Saite Period, Twenty-Sixth Dynasty (XXVI), ca. 664 to 525 BCE. A trio of lovely shallow faience jars or pots, each with flaring walls, a thick rim, a flat base, and a pale blue-green glaze (one darker than the other two). The darker also has a bright blue faience fitted lid that sits neatly atop it. The two unlidded jars have loose deposits inside of them - dried remains of their original contents. These jars would have been used to hold unguents, makeup, or other personal care items. Size of largest: 2" W x 0.75" H (5.1 cm x 1.9 cm)
