Description:

Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A fine set of 2 cast leaded-bronze false beards from ancient Egypt. The first false beard exhibits an elegant form, with 20 slender lapis lazuli inlays adorning the exterior surfaces, and faint remains of gilt visible along the lower half. The larger false beard features 16 fragmentary lapis inlays that dot the green surfaces with pops of blue. Both pieces are covered in fine layers of green patina. Size of largest: 0.75" W x 2.375" H (1.9 cm x 6 cm)
