Egyptian, 26th/30th Dynasty, ca. 664-342 CE. Larger bronze cast figurine representing Harpocrates, son of Osiris and Isis born in the lotus flower like Nefertum. Assuming the traditional seated position, his left hand extended, his right forefinger pointing to his mouth, hair styled in a sidelock, and the nemes head cloth with uraeus and diadem surmounted by the hem-hem crown flanked with uraeus serpent heads. Custom stand. Measurements for figurine alone. Stand adds another inch to height. 1.38"W x 6.25"H (3.49 W x 15.88 H cm) Provenance: Ex-Private Boulder, CO collection acquired from Arte Primitivo auction, May 1, 2013; Private NYC collection, acquired at Tepper Gallery, NYC in mid-1990s.
