Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A finely-detailed bronze amulet of Osiris, the god of the underworld. His is depicted standing in mummiform atop an integral square plinth, and is holding the symbolic crook and flail. His head sports a braided false beard, a large Atef crown with two plumed ostrich feathers, a sun disc on top, and a frontal uraeus. His facial features are still visible and well-defined, and an integral bifurcated suspension loop protrudes from his back. A small peg stems from the bottom of the figure, and rests comfortably in the accompanying circular wooden stand. Lovely russet and pale-green patina covers the exposed exterior. Size: 3.3" H (8.4 cm); 3.875" H (9.8 cm) on included custom stand.
