Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A bronze wire ring bent into a circular form with tapering terminals. Thin bronze wire wraps around each terminal and through the suspension hole of a hand-carved stone scaraboid with a rounded top and a planar bottom. Fine green patina has developed along the ring band, and the scaraboid exhibits a smooth surface texture. Size (ring): 1.125" Diameter (2.9 cm); size (scaraboid): 0.55" L x 0.375" W (1.4 cm x 1 cm); US ring size 9.

  • Condition: Wearable as shown. Both bronze ring and scaraboid are ancient. Minor nicks and abrasions to scaraboid, with slight bending to overall form of ring, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits and fine patina throughout.
