Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A cast-bronze figure of Osiris, the god of the underworld and one of the most instantly recognizable deities in the Egyptian pantheon. The regal god stands with fused legs atop an integral mounting tang and holds his signature flagellum and short-handled heka scepter in both hands. Osiris stares forward with large, almond-shaped eyes beneath arching brows, and has a broad nose, full lips, a plaited false beard, and an Atef crown with a frontal uraeus and a pair of ostrich feathers. Fine layers of green and dark brown patina envelop the entire figure and make for an attractive presentation. Size: 1.7" W x 6.3" H (4.3 cm x 16 cm); 6.625" H (16.8 cm) on included custom stand.
