Egypt - Late Period, Ptolemaic period, ca. 300-30 B.C. Openwork cartonnage aegis collar breast plate and vertical column register. Painted gesso surface in blue and red on a white ground with some black painted details. Depicting a kneeling winged Isis wearing a sun disc crown. Central winged deity above her, flanked by falcon heads. Lower vertical column register depicts the Four Sons of Ra, with the deceased figure in the lower right corner facing Osiris. Several minor losses, mostly to the outer borders, but still a wonderful showy piece. Size with frame: 47" L x 19.5" W (119.4 cm x 49.5 cm)

Provenance: Ex- CA. collection, ex. private American collection, acquired in the 1950s.
