Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed and turquoise-glazed faience figure of rare form depicting the goddess Mut feeding the infant Horus. In later periods, Mut became a combination deity with herself and both goddesses Isis and Nephthys, so this depiction of Mut (as Isis) feeding Isis' child is rather rare. Mut sits on Isis' throne while wearing the Pschent Crown signifying her dominion over Upper and Lower Egypt. Remains of an iron suspension loop are visible on the verso. Size: 0.63" L x 0.38" W x 1.43" H (1.6 cm x 1 cm x 3.6 cm)
