Egypt, Late Dynastic period, dynasty 26 through 30, ca. 662 to 320 BCE. Very fine faience amulet - worn for good luck or often included in the mummy wrappings for good luck in the afterlife. Amulet in the form of the minor god Pataikos, the Dwarf Protector God. Stands nude with his hands to his sides, short legs and enlarged, probably bald, head. Suspension loop on reverse. Size: 1.5" H (3.8 cm)
