Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A standing blue-green glazed faience figure of Sekhmet, the lioness-headed goddess of strength and warfare. Depicted in a striding pose, her arms rigidly at her sides while a long flowing robe covers her upper torso and legs. Sekhmet is shown here wearing a traditional double crown, also known as a Pschent, which was the pharaonic headdress symbolizing the combined rule of both Upper and Lower Egypt. A wonderful example of one of the oldest deities in Egyptian mythos. Size: 0.25" L x 0.375" W x 1.8" H (0.6 cm x 1 cm x 4.6 cm); 1.85" H (4.7 cm) on included custom stand.
