Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. An ensemble of mold-formed faience amulets from ancient Egypt. First is a petite, blue-glazed Djed pillar that represents the spine. Second is a slender papyrus stem called "wadj" in Egyptian. The largest is a heart-and-windpipe called "nfr" or "nefer" in Egyptian. Size of largest (heart-and-windpipe): 0.35" L x 0.57" W x 0.96" H (0.9 cm x 1.4 cm x 2.4 cm)

Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966

  • Condition: Each with minor abrasions and nicks, with softening to some finer details, and fading to glaze pigment on heart-and-windpipe amulet, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to overall forms, and great glazing on the 2 smaller amulets.
