Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A set of 2 mold-formed faience amulets depicting sister goddesses Isis and Nephthys. Isis is shown seated while feeding her infant Horus, and Nephthys presents in a striding pose. The relationship between Isis and Nephthys showcases their complementary roles as goddesses of life, death, and rebirth. Their intertwined functions highlight the cyclical nature of existence and the profound significance of duality in ancient Egyptian belief systems. Size of largest (Nephthys): 0.625" L x 0.4" W x 2.125" H (1.6 cm x 1 cm x 5.4 cm)

  • Condition: Chip to one horn of Isis' crown; Nephthys is intact and very good. Both with light earthen deposits and minor softening to finer details, with Nephthys having abrasions to most glazed areas, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to both figural forms.
