Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A beautiful necklace of a wearable form comprised of hundreds of petite faience seed beads that have been glazed in a variety of vibrant hues. The single strands behind the neck branch out into four individual strands that cascade in front of the wearer's chest. Modern fluted sterling silver spacer caps separate the single back strands and four frontal strands, and the ends are capped with a modern sterling silver loop and lobster clasp combo. A fantastic and wearable example of ancient art meets modern fashion! Size: 19.25" L (48.9 cm); size of largest bead: 0.125" W (0.3 cm).
