Egypt, ca. Late - Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 - 30 BCE. A beautiful necklace composed of faience beads, two scarabs, and an Eye of Horus. Long tubular beads stretch from the clasp all the way around the necklace, being interspaced with two scarabs, two Amarna period beads, and a Wedjat Eye (eye of Horus) at center, also likely from the Amarna period. Faience fades from light at the clasp to dark at the center. A beautiful piece of wearable art! Approx. 25"L.

Provenance: Ex-Adeon Gallery, IL, acquired in the 1950s - 1960s.
