Egypt, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A mold-formed faience funerary figure, known as an ushabti, standing in mummiform with a pick and hoe draped across the chest. The head rises up from the neck with false beard and lengthy wig, and the entire figure is enveloped in layers of light blue glaze with cobalt-blue accents. Size: 1.25" W x 3.9" H (3.2 cm x 9.9 cm); 4.5" H (11.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Vero Beach, Florida, USA collection, acquired before 2003
