Description:

Ancient Egypt, Deir el-Bahari, Third Intermediate Period, 21st Dynasty, ca. 988 to 955 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti enveloped in layers of gorgeous glaze of an incredibly deep blue hue. The mummiform figure presents with farming implements held in arms crossed atop the chest as well as sensitive facial features framed by black-painted headdress lappets. Painted in black behind the figure is a minimalist seed bag, and painted down the front of the legs is a vertical hieroglyphic inscription. Size: 5.875" H (14.9 cm); 6.75" H (17.1 cm) on included custom stand.
