Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti figure boasting light blue glaze on the body and cobalt blue glaze enveloping the tripartite wig. The mummiform figure stands with fused legs in front of an integral dorsal pillar and holds a pick and hoe in arms crossed atop the chest. The serene face features almond-shaped eyes, full lips with indented corners, and a false beard, and the dark blue wig has lengthy frontal lappets and drapes to the back of the neck. Size: 1.25" W x 4.1" H (3.2 cm x 10.4 cm); 4.4" H (11.2 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Vero Beach, Florida, USA collection; from an old French collection formed in the 1970s
