Description:

Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th Dynasty, ca. 664 to 525 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti presenting in mummiform with fused feet atop a rectangular plinth. The green-glazed funerary figure stands tall with a pick and hoe held in hands crossed atop the convex chest. Almond eyes, a flush nose, indented cheek corners, and a striated tripartite wig comprise the physiognomy while 10 lines of hieroglyphics enrobe the body in a spell from the Egyptian Book of the Dead (or Book of Going Forth by Day). Size: 1.19" L x 1.87" W x 6.75" H (3 cm x 4.7 cm x 17.1 cm); 7.8" H (19.8 cm) on included custom stand.
