Description:

Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, reign of Thutmose III, ca. 1479 to 1425 BCE. A petite rectangular plaque bead carved from steatite depicting four cartouches for Pharaoh Thutmose III (also Tuthmosis III or Thothmes). The front face bears a vertical cartouche for the pharaoh next to a tall feather of Ma'at (also feather of truth), and the bottom exhibits three identical pharaonic cartouches next to one another. A narrow suspension hole is drilled lengthwise through the body and the entire plaque is covered in lustrous blue-green glaze. Size: 0.7" L x 0.55" W (1.8 cm x 1.4 cm)
