Ancient Egypt, Lower Egypt, city of Avaris, late Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period, 13th to 18th Dynasty, Hyksos, ca. 1782 to 1570 BCE. A mold-formed faience signet ring of a hexagonal shape with a narrow shank and a face bearing a pair of crescent moons separated by a vertical column. The Hyksos were Syro-Phoenician in origin and ruled over Egypt during much of the Second Intermediate Period. Size (ring): 0.75" W x 0.7" H (1.9 cm x 1.8 cm); (face): 0.55" L x 0.2" W (1.4 cm x 0.5 cm); US ring size 3.5
