**Originally Listed At $750**

Ancient Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period, ca. 1800 to 1500 BCE. A horseshoe-shaped ceramic offering table with a raised border and a shallow incised motif that resembles dual crescent moons hanging from a rope. Offerings would have been placed into these grooves. Offering tables were a central part of cult monuments and tombs in ancient Egypt, part of a tradition that stretches back to pre-Dynastic times. People would leave food on mats in front of tombs; over time, these became more elaborate, turning into offering tables like this one. Size: 10.4" W x 11.75" H (26.4 cm x 29.8 cm)
