Egypt, Pre-Dynastic/Naqada II or III, ca. 3500 to 3000 BCE. This is a green jasper piriform mace head with one large drilled hole in the center and four smaller drilled holes around that hole. This is a really beautiful example of these objects which were placed inside graves and seem to signify the authority of the people buried with them. Size: 1.8" W x 1.4" H (4.6 cm x 3.6 cm).
