Description:

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 1070 to 30 BCE. A set of 3 hand-carved lapis lazuli artifacts including a pair of inlays as well as a protective pendant called a wadjet (also wedjat). The wadjet pendant is of ocular form with an almond-shaped eye below a perforated suspension loop. One inlay is carved into an ovoid form with a beveled edge and smooth surfaces while the second, larger inlay has 1 smooth face and rough surfaces everywhere else. Size of largest (rough inlay): 0.7" L x 0.5" W (1.8 cm x 1.3 cm)
