Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti enveloped in attractive blue-green glaze. The figure stands in mummiform atop an integral plinth, holds a pick and hoe in hands crossed atop the chest, and has a seed bag over the left shoulder. Ovoid eyes, a perky nose, full lips, and a plaited false beard comprise the visage, and a simple tripartite wig caps the head. A fine example of Egyptian funerary artistry! Size: 1" W x 4.25" H (2.5 cm x 10.8 cm).
