Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A hand-carved alabaster jar with a rounded base, an egg-shaped body, and a corseted neck beneath a thin, flared rim. The honey-yellow color of the jar as well as integral banding are highlighted when placed next to a bright light. Size: 2.75" W x 3.875" H (7 cm x 9.8 cm); 4.7" H (11.9 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Dere collection, East Coast, USA assembled between 1970 and 2000; ex-Dr. Sid Port collection, California, USA, acquired in 1980
