Lot 1
Egypt, Late New Kingdom, ca. 1300 to 1085 BCE. A finely carved limestone stele of softly weathered white stone, its surface preserving two registers of figures accompanied by vertical hieroglyphic inscriptions. In the upper scene, worshippers raise their hands in reverence before a larger figure crowned with the atef, emblematic of divine authority. Below, additional attendants appear in procession, continuing the theme of ritual devotion. Though the stone exhibits areas of flaking consistent with its age, much of the carving remains sharp and legible, enhancing the stele’s historical impact. The combination of hieroglyphs and figural imagery underscores its function as a devotional monument, while the naturally softened patina lends the piece a powerful ancient presence. Size: 11.5" L x 10" W (29.2 cm x 25.4 cm)
